PINELLAS PARK — A 74-year-old man died Thursday after his 2007 Chevrolet Equinox bounced off two trees and a pickup truck, coming to rest in a final collision with a second truck, police said.

The crash happened at the intersection of 71st Avenue N and 49th Street about 1:36 p.m.

Raymond J. Busch, of 741 72nd Ave. N, was driving south on 49th Street when his SUV careened off the road into the trees and a parked truck, then hit an unoccupied truck in a parking lot, said Capt. Sanfield Forseth of the Pinellas Park Police Department.

Busch was taken to Northside Hospital with serious injuries. He was pronounced dead soon after arrival.

Forseth said Busch may have suffered from medical problems before the crash. No one else was involved. Police are investigating.

"The issue at hand would be: Was he killed because of the crash, or did he die after the crash? We won't know until the medical examiner's report," he said.
