Man hit by car after crash on I-75 in Tampa

TAMPA — A driver involved in a crash was seriously injured Wednesday afternoon after running across Interstate 75 to check on the other driver.

Troopers identified the injured man Thursday as Jeffrey Curtis Frandsen, 44, of Tampa. He was listed in good condition at Tampa General Hospital.

At 3:21 p.m., Frandsen was southbound on I-75 near the Bruce B. Downs Boulevard exit when he ran into a car driven by Michael Terrell Hallman, 25, of Plant City, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The cars pulled onto opposite shoulders.

While trying to cross the lanes of I-75 to check on Hallman, Frandsen was hit by a car driven by Elton Shomari Johnson, 27 of Wesley Chapel.

Frandsen and Johnson were uninjured.
