Man killed while crossing U.S. 19 N in Largo

LARGO — A 30-year-old man was struck and killed by a car as he tried to cross U.S. 19 N Wednesday night, police said.

Neil E. Ventimiglia had crossed the southbound lanes near 150th Avenue N just before 9 p.m. when he jumped the concrete median and tried to cross northbound traffic.

While walking across the lanes, he was struck by a 2006 silver Honda Accord, police said.

Ventimiglia died at the scene.

No charges have been filed against the driver of the Honda. An investigation was ongoing Thursday.
