Motorcyclist fatally injured in crash identified

MANGO — Authorities have identified the motorcyclist who died from injuries in a crash with two other vehicles on State Road 574 Saturday afternoon.

The Florida Highway Patrol said Edwin Stephen Torres, 23, of Tampa was driving his Suzuki westbound in the left turn lane of SR 574 before the crash occurred just after 1:30 p.m. Saturday. He turned left into the path of a car driven by Wesley Ethan Bozeman, 26, of Sydney, Australia, the Florida Highway Patrol said. Bozeman was traveling west in the center lane, east of Lakewood Drive.

Torres hit the back of Bozeman's car and spun clockwise. He crashed into the front of a car driven by Leticia Guadalupe Perez-Garcia, 27, of Seffner. Perez-Garcia was stopped for a red light on Lakewood Drive, south of SR 574. Torres was taken to Brandon Regional Medical Center and later died from injuries sustained in the crash.

The other drivers were uninjured.
