Motorcycle, school bus collide in Clearwater; no children on board

CLEARWATER — A school bus and motorcycle collided at Drew Street and N Highland Avenue about 9 a.m. Wednesday.

No children were on the bus, said public safety spokeswoman Beth Watts.

The 27-year-old motorcyclist, who was not identified, was seriously injured and taken by helicopter to a hospital. No information was released about the bus driver.

How the vehicles collided is under investigation. The school bus was westbound on Drew before turning left onto Highland, Watts said. The motorcycle was eastbound on Drew.
