Motorcyclist, 31, killed in Tampa crash identified

TAMPA — The Florida Highway Patrol has identified the 31-year-old motorcyclist killed in a crash Friday.

Troy Allen Yambura, of Tampa, was heading east on Hillsborough Avenue on a 2000 Kawasaki ZX900 just after 7 p.m. when a 2011 GMC K2500, driven by Randal Scott Crowe, 51, was coming in the opposite direction. Crowe turned onto Orient Road as Yambura had the right of way, causing the motorcycle to strike Crowe's car, troopers said.

Yambura was thrown off the motorcycle. He died at the scene, troopers said.

Crowe, of St. Cloud, was not injured. Charges are pending, troopers said.

An investigation remained under way Saturday.
