Motorcyclist dies after Citrus County crash

CITRUS SPRINGS — A motorcyclist died Sunday afternoon after he failed to make a curve in the road and was thrown from the cycle, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Scott Edwin Keatly, 59, of Beverly Hills was driving a 200 Harley-Davidson east on Dunklin Street shortly after 2 p.m. when he tried to negotiate a curve near the intersection with Nessi Street, west of Citrus Springs. The patrol said his motorcycle flipped several times and he was ejected. He was not wearing a helmet, the patrol said.

Keatly was taken with critical injuries to Seven Rivers Regional Medical Center, where he died.
