PINELLAS PARK — A 23-year-old St. Petersburg man died Thursday after he ran a stop sign and crashed his motorcycle into a pickup truck, police said.

Marquise L. Carroll was riding a motorcycle south on 50th Street about 6:30 p.m. and ran the stop sign at the intersection with 70th Avenue, according to Pinellas Park police. Carroll, who was wearing a helmet, crashed into the side of a Dodge pickup pulling a large open-air trailer and was thrown from the bike. He was taken to a local hospital and died from his injuries, police said.

The driver of the pickup truck, 46-year-old Raphael Riske of St. Petersburg, was not injured.
