TAMPA — A man died Tuesday afternoon after losing control of his motorcycle and hitting a road barrier, authorities said.
The man, whose name was not released pending family notification, was driving on W Spruce Street approaching the ramp onto the Veterans Expressway when he lost control of his 2003 Black Buell motorcycle about 2:15 p.m., according to Tampa police. He hit the inside road barrier and was thrown from the motorcycle.
He was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
