Motorcyclist dies in crash with car on Temple Terrace Highway

TEMPLE TERRACE — A 21-year-old motorcyclist died Monday after striking a car that turned into its path, deputies said.

Karim Mitwalli was eastbound on Temple Terrace Highway just after 10:15 p.m. Monday on his 2007 Honda motorcycle, deputies said.

Torrence Knighton, who was driving a 2009 Honda Pilot, attempted to exit the Central Park Apartments by turning east onto Temple Terrace Highway. He turned right into Mitwalli's path, deputies said.

The motorcycle crashed into the side of the Pilot.

Mitwalli, who was wearing a helmet, was declared dead at the scene.

Knighton, of Tampa, was uninjured.
