Motorcyclist dies in I-4 crash in Tampa

TAMPA — A motorcyclist died on westbound Interstate 4 near Hillsborough Avenue Wednesday night, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The driver was weaving through traffic and riding in between lanes, Sgt. Larry Kraus said. At the Hillsborough Avenue exit, a working tow truck blocked two right lanes while pulling a car from a ditch. The motorcyclist lowered the speeding bike but hit equipment underneath the wrecker, Kraus said. The man carried no ID.

The tow-truck driver, 52-year-old Cesar E. Centeno, had minor injuries.
