Motorcyclist hospitalized after crash at Dunedin intersection

DUNEDIN — A 26-year-old Clearwater motorcyclist was severely injured Monday after he collided with an oncoming vehicle that tried to make a left turn in front of him, authorities said.

Chad M. Kunnen of Quail Hollow Road was flown to Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg with life-threatening injuries, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office.

The crash occurred about 11:20 a.m. on Main Street at Virginia Street in Dunedin.

Kunnen was driving his 2003 Yamaha motorcycle east on Main. Alvin C. Brady, 84, of Palm Harbor was driving a Lincoln Towncar west on Main, deputies said.

Deputies say Brady was turning left onto Virginia Street when he apparently turned in front of the motorcyclist. Kunnen, who was not wearing a helmet, was thrown from the bike.

Brady and his wife, 83-year-old Arlene C. Brady, were taken by ambulance to Mease Countryside hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

No charges were filed Monday. The investigation continues.
