Motorcyclist injured in St. Petersburg traffic crash

ST. PETERSBURG — A 32-year-old motorcyclist was critically injured Friday morning after a traffic accident.

St. Petersburg police said Darnell Kindred, the 32-year-old motorcyclist, was heading north on 34th Street at about 8:20 a.m. A Ford Taurus driven by Pamela Mason, 56, turned east onto 18th Ave S in front of Kindred, striking him in the intersection.

Kindred, who was thrown from the bike, was taken to Bayfront Medical Center with critical injuries.

The intersection was closed for several hours Friday but opened right before 2 p.m.
