Motorcyclist killed in crash on I-4 in Hillsborough

TAMPA — A 70-year-old motorcyclist died Tuesday in an Interstate 4 crash that closed two lanes for more than an hour.

Joseph Malette Glover of Haines City was driving his motorcycle west in the right lane on I-4 under the Williams Road overpass, east of the intersection with Interstate 75, when he crashed into the back of a 2004 Hyundai Sonata driven by Charles Lewis Lee, 63, just before 8:30 a.m., the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Glover, who was not wearing a helmet, landed on the roadway and died at the scene.

Lee and 21-year-old passenger Alex Caron Lee, both of Port Orange, were uninjured. The collision caused about $4,000 in damage to the car, troopers said.
