BROOKSVILLE — A 55-year-old motorcyclist from Kissimmee was killed Sunday afternoon when the driver lost control of the vehicle and struck a concrete median and a reflective pole, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.
According to the FHP, William Bosveld was riding his 2000 Harley-Davidson motorcycle east on Cortez Boulevard, west of Brooksville near B.W. Stevenson Road, at 2:53 p.m. when he failed to negotiate a curve and left the roadway. Bosveld was ejected from the motorcycle and was pronounced dead at the scene by Hernando County Fire Rescue.
Bosveld was not wearing a helmet, the FHP said. The report said it was not immediately known whether alcohol was a contributing factor.
