Motorcyclist killed in Pinellas Park crash

A motorcyclist died Thursday afternoon after running a red light and colliding with a van in Pinellas Park.

Police said Ryan Anderson, 22, of St. Petersburg, was traveling south on Belcher Road and approaching a green light at 118th Avenue N. Anderson rode a white line to pass between two larger vehicles ahead of it that stopped when the light turned red.

Police said Anderson ran the red light and crashed into a commercial van, driven by John Trocheck, 46, of Clearwater, turning west on 118th Avenue from Belcher Road.

Anderson died shortly after the crash, police said.
