New Port Richey man dies in motorcycle crash Tuesday night

NEW PORT RICHEY — A 60-year-old motorcyclist died late Tuesday night in a crash on Massachusetts Avenue.

Bruce G. Oliver, of New Port Richey, was driving a 2007 Harley Davidson bike east on Massachusetts Avenue, or County Road 587, just east of Keena Street, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Oliver came to a left curve, leaned too far to the right, hit the curb on the road's shoulder and overcorrected to the left. The motorcycle's back wheel slid and Oliver was thrown from the bike.

Troopers said Oliver was taken to Morton Plant North Bay Hospital, where he died.
