Northbound I-275 traffic flowing again in St. Petersburg after wreck

ST. PETERSBURG — Traffic was flowing again on northbound Interstate 275 south of 38th Avenue N on Wednesday afternoon after a two-vehicle wreck backed up traffic for miles.

The wreck was reported at 11:47 a.m., according to St. Petersburg Fire Rescue, after the driver of a northbound sport utility vehicle lost control and hit a large Ford pickup.

The pickup was hauling a trailer with empty drums on board. The crash left the pickup truck on its side and spilled the drums onto the interstate, according to Fire Rescue Lt. Joel Granata.

No injuries were reported.
