Northbound lanes on Howard Frankland reopen after crash

TAMPA — Three cars collided on northbound Interstate 275 Thursday night and one person was taken to the hospital.

The crash happened on the Howard Frankland Bridge at 9 p.m. according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

One vehicle overturned and the wreck closed all northbound lanes — forcing traffic to go around on the shoulder, troopers said.

The lanes were reopened shortly before 11 p.m., the patrol said.

An injured person was taken to Tampa General Hospital for treatment.

The extent of the injuries or the cause of the accident were not immediately available.
