Crews still working to fill Dunedin sinkhole

Crews filled in about 40 percent of a Dunedin sinkhole on Saturday and expect work to be completed by late Tuesday or Wednesday, city fire Chief Jeff Parks said.

The sinkhole, which opened up Thursday morning, has forced officials to condemn and demolish two homes on Robmar Road. The hole finally stopped growing when it reached 90 feet wide and 56 feet deep.

Once the ground has been stabilized, neighbors evacuated from four other houses in the area will be allowed to return.
