23-year-old man dies after being hit by car
A 23-year-old Oldsmar man was killed early Tuesday after he was struck by a car on Tampa Road. The accident happened just before 2 a.m. at Tampa Road and East Lake Woodlands Parkway.
Eric Matthew Stanton, 25, of Holiday, was driving a 2005 Hyundai Tiburon west on Tampa Road when he struck a man in the intersection.
The man, who was wearing dark clothing, died at the scene. Investigators identified him as Paul Stephen Heaberlin, 23, of Oldsmar.
The investigation is ongoing, but a sheriff's report noted that Stanton was cooperative at the scene and displayed no signs of impairment.
