CLEARWATER — One person was killed and another seriously injured in a motorcycle accident Thursday night, police said.

Neither person has been identified yet.

The accident occurred at 8:37 p.m. in the 1800 block of Montclair Road, officials said.

Preliminary information indicated that the motorcycle was travelling at a high speed when the driver veered off the road at a curve, Clearwater police spokeswoman Elizabeth Watts said.

The driver, a male, was thrown from the bike. He was taken to Mease Dunedin Hospital with life threatening injuries. His passenger, a female, also was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene.

Both were wearing helmets, Watts said. No other details were available.
