Man killed in boat accident on river

One man is dead after a boat was found upside down Friday evening in some mangroves on the Little Manatee River, according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.

The boat, a 20-foot Intrepid, was traveling east in the river near SW River Drive. It crashed into mangroves on the south side of the channel, the agency said.

Another man and a woman on the boat were not injured, the agency said.

Hillsborough County Fire Rescue first responded to the crash about 7:40 p.m.
