HOMOSASSA — A man died and several people were injured after a boat flipped Sunday afternoon on the Homosassa River, authorities said.
The man, who was not identified by investigators, was 45 to 47 years old, said Citrus County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Heather Yates.
Authorities said between seven and nine people were aboard the boat, Yates said.
"The boat flipped and as a result of that there were multiple injuries to multiple people," she said.
Several people were hospitalized after the incident, Yates said.
Yates said the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission will lead the investigation.
