One person died and two others were seriously injured after being ejected from a car that spun out of control early Saturday on U.S. 41 in Pasco County.

Authorities said 32-year-old Donald Ray Armstrong, of Brooksville, was driving south on the highway approaching Goodman Drive when he lost control of his 1986 Corvette shortly after 1 a.m.

The vehicle rotated, rolled and landed on its roof. All three occupants, who were not wearing seat belts, were thrown from the car.

The Brooksville man was pronounced dead at the scene. His two passengers, identified as Sarah Elizabeth Donahue, 28, of Spring Hill, and Stephanie Nicole Sizemore, 26, of Spring Hill, were taken to Bayonet Point Hospital with critical injuries.

No other details about the incident were released. The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating.
