SPRING HILL — A woman is dead and her passenger seriously injured after a crash at the intersection of Landover and Mariner boulevards Friday night, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Catherine Lord, 78, of Spring Hill, was driving a 2006 Ford Taurus west on Landover Boulevard at about 7 p.m. as Matthew Beiersi, 36, of Gravenhurst, Ontario, headed north on Mariner Boulevard, FHP said.

Lord was taken to Oak Hill Hospital where she later died from her injuries, FHP said. Her passenger, Harold Lord, 89, of Spring Hill, was taken to Bayonet Point Hospital with serious injuries.

Beiersi was not injured. His passenger, Melissa Bosley, 32, of Gravenhurst, Ontario, had minor injuries and was taken to Oak Hill Hospital.

All four were wearing seat belts. The crash is under investigation.
