Overturned truck causes detour near Tampa International Airport

TAMPA – Traffic was being rerouted near Tampa International Airport Friday morning because of an overturned tractor trailer, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The frontage lanes to the right of westbound State Road 60 and northbound Memorial Highway next to the airport were closed. Traffic was routed to the roads by the U.S. Post Office.

Traffic on the main lanes of westbound State Road 60 is not affected. Tampa Fire says Memorial Highway northbound going to the airport has all lanes blocked.

One person was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. It was unclear when the truck would be cleared from the lanes. No fuel spill is reported.
