CLEARWATER – Alejandra White, the 27-year-old Atlanta woman severely injured in a parasailing accident Sunday, remained in critical condition Wednesday afternoon, authorities said.
White and her fiance, Shaun Ladd, 31, were on a parasailing ride with the Sky Screamer Parasail company at the Clearwater municipal marina when windy weather rolled in. While the two were being pulled in, the winch let loose and the line eventually snapped, according to a Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission report.
Ladd was able to remove himself from the harness but fell to the water while trying to free White. She was dragged to the ground, where she hit beach umbrellas and chairs before striking a volleyball net.
