Pasco crash kills two people, seriously injures a third

ARIPEKA — Two people were killed Monday and another woman critically injured in a crash on U.S. 19 south of Aripeka Road, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Authorities withheld the names of those who died pending notification of their family members.

A 59-year-old man from Spring Hill was driving north on U.S. 19 about 1:40 p.m. in a 2003 Suzuki when he veered onto the shoulder for unknown reasons. He overcorrected, FHP said, crossed all three lanes of traffic, drove over the median and struck a southbound Honda Civic. The passenger in that car, a 53-year-old Spring Hill woman, was killed.

The Civic's driver was identified as Francis Yeager, 72, of West New York, N.J. Yeager was flown to Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg with serious injuries, FHP said.
