Pasco man, 95, dies after traveling into path of car on mobile scooter

A 95-year-old Wesley Chapel man died Sunday night after trying to cross State Road 54 on a mobile scooter, authorities said.

About 7:24 p.m., Justo Delgado, attempted to cross the state road near the intersection of Wiregrass Ranch Boulevard under a red pedestrian signal as Arden Ford, 78, drove westbound, Florida Highway Patrol officials said. Delgado traveled into the path of Ford's 2007 Cadillac Escalade.

Delgado died at the scene, FHP said.
