Pasco pedestrian dies from injuries in Dec. 19 crash

HOLIDAY — A 28-year-old Port Richey woman has died from injuries she suffered after being hit by a car on Dec. 19.

Sara B. Fowler was walking alone in the southbound lane of Monticello Street just before 11:30 p.m. when she was hit by a 1989 Chevrolet van.

The driver, 29-year-old Virginia Marie Schneider, turned left onto Monticello and "failed to observe" Fowler, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Fowler was taken to Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point in critical condition. She died Monday, said Sgt. Steve Gaskins of the Florida Highway Patrol.

Schneider, of New Port Richey, has never been arrested in Florida, according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. She's had two minor traffic infractions, according to the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles. Gaskins said the investigation into the crash is continuing.
