Pedestrian, 27, killed in Gibsonton crash

GIBSONTON — A 27-year-old pedestrian was killed Wednesday night while walking in the street, troopers said.

Zuka Nadim Dabbour of Gibsonton died just before 8:25 p.m. after being hit by a 2000 Jeep Cherokee on U.S. 41 near Cherry Blossom Trail, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Hector L. Sella Rodriguez, 68, of Tampa was unable to see Dabbour, who had been walking in or near the center of the road, officials said.

Rodriguez was not hurt in the collision. An investigation remained under way Thursday.
