Pedestrian critically injured in St. Petersburg crash

ST. PETERSBURG — A man was critically injured Monday evening after two cars collided and one of them careened into a bus stop pavilion, St. Petersburg police said.

Police said they're not sure if the man who was struck was at the bus stop or just near it. His identity has not been released by police. He was transported to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg, police said.

The collision between the two cars happened just after 7:37 p.m. at 4th Street S near 21st Avenue S. Officials said neither driver was seriously injured. Police have closed 4th Street S from 18th Avenue S to 22nd Avenue S while the accident is investigated.
