TAMPA — A 51-year-old pedestrian was struck and killed Tuesday evening when he stepped in front of a car, state troopers said.
The crash happened about 8 p.m. on U.S. 41 and St. Paul Street.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the man was attempting to cross the highway when he walked in front of a Buick driven by Patrice Alecia Pascoe, 37, of Gibsonton.
The man, whose name has not yet been released, died at the scene, the patrol said.
The crash remains under investigation.
