Tampa pedestrian hospitalized following hit and run

TAMPA — A woman was in critical condition Thursday night after a hit-and-run crash on Dale Mabry Highway, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The crash was reported south of Waters Avenue at 11:45 p.m. Ashley M. Johnson, 23, was crossing the southbound lanes of Dale Mabry Highway and walked into the path of a red pickup truck, troopers said.

The pickup truck failed to stop. Johnson was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital with what appeared to be critical injuries, troopers said.

Anyone with information about the accident was asked to call the Florida Highway Patrol at (813) 631-4020.
