Pedestrian killed in Tampa crash

TAMPA — A man died after being hit while crossing in front of an approaching car Thursday morning on Hillsborough Avenue, authorities said.

Charles Raymond Hart, 61, was walking north across Hillsborough Avenue west of Lagoon Street just after 6:30 a.m., according to the Florida Highway Patrol. He crossed the grass median before stepping into the westbound lanes. At the same time, a 2011 Chevrolet HHR was headed west.

Hart failed to yield to the vehicle and was hit, troopers said. He was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital, where he later died.

The driver of the car, Chamel Amado Rodriguez, 34, of Tampa, was not injured, authorities said.

The crash remains under investigation.

I have lost and gained weight several times in my adult life. It wasn't a problem when I was younger and working construction. An "ideal" office job 30 years ago started the yo-yo effect. I don't have any more weight to lose, but the potential of gaining it back is always there.
