DUNEDIN — A man died after being struck by a car Tuesday night on Curlew Road, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Cheryl Lynn Hoffman, 46, of Clearwater was driving a Ford Explorer west approaching U.S. 19 about 10:15 p.m.

At that moment, Jonathan Barron was crossing Curlew Road against the light in a crosswalk. He was struck by the Explorer, troopers said.

Barron, 38, was flown to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg, where he later died, troopers said. He was from Newport News, Va.

The accident was still under investigation Thursday.
