Pedestrian seriously injured in Tampa accident

TAMPA — A pedestrian was seriously injured Saturday night after he walked unexpectedly into westbound traffic on Hillsborough Avenue and was struck by a Toyota Camry, Tampa police said.

The pedestrian, Reinaldo V. Porra, 44, of Tampa suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital.

Police said the driver of the car, Lisvet Tain, 37, also of Tampa, was not at fault and did not receive a traffic citation.

Police said Porra was crossing Hillsborough from the north when he was hit at about 10 p.m.
