Pedestrian struck by car on Central Avenue in St. Pete

ST. PETERSBURG — A pedestrian was struck and seriously injured Tuesday while crossing Central Avenue, according to St. Petersburg police.

The crash occurred at 2:56 p.m. at a crosswalk at 24th Street.

Police said a westbound 1999 Mazda driven by Nathan James Seletos, 21, of St. Pete Beach, was approaching the intersection.

Witnesses told police the Mazda struck Quaniece Fashay Butler, who was the last of a group of pedestrians to cross the street. Butler, 21, of St. Petersburg, was transported to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg with serious injuries.

Police are investigating.
