A Pinellas Park home caught fire Sunday afternoon, collapsing its roof and sending thick smoke into the sky, authorities said.
The two residents at the house, 9695 45th St. N, escaped unharmed.
Pinellas Park fire officials said one of the residents heard a loud series of pops from the garage. When the person checked to see what caused the noise, the resident saw growing flames. Firefighters arrived and sprayed water on the house. They could not enter because of the severe damage to the roof, which had collapsed.
The Red Cross was called to help the two residents. The cause of the fire was under investigation.
