A 69-year-old woman remained hospitalized Sunday after being hit by a car and critically injured while crossing Bryan Dairy Road near Largo, authorities said.
Fay Giaimo was walking north in a crosswalk despite a "do not walk" signal when she was struck by a 2000 Ford Focus traveling west on Bryan Dairy Road at 6:17 a.m Friday at the intersection with Belcher Road.
Giaimo, of Pinellas Park, was taken to Bayfront Medical Center with critical injuries, according to a Florida Highway Patrol report.
A current condition for Giaimo wasn't available Sunday.
The driver, Samuel Lee Chapman, 33, of Largo, has not been charged. The crash caused $4,000 damages to Champman's car. Chapman and a 2-year-old passenger, Samuel R. Chapman, were not injured.
