WESLEY CHAPEL — A 20-year-old man was hit and killed just before midnight Monday as he crossed State Road 56 on foot, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
Michael James Robison of Plant City was walking north across the highway near Silver Maple Parkway when he was hit by a Dodge Caravan driving east, FHP said. Robison died at the scene.
The driver of the minivan, Courtney Leeann Evans, 30, of Wesley Chapel, was not injured.
Troopers are still investigating the crash.
