Police release name of motorcyclist killed in Wednesday night crash

Police have identified the man killed after his motorcycle collided with a commercial truck late Wednesday in Pinellas Park.

Dwight J. Harvey Jr., 29, was driving south on Belcher Road and approaching 118th Avenue N about 8:20 p.m, police said. Witnesses told police Harvey ran the red light at the intersection of 118th Avenue N and collided with the truck, which was towing a large trailer and was driven by Robert Smith, 47, of Seminole, as it made a westbound turn onto 118th Avenue N.

Harvey died at the scene.

An investigation is ongoing.
