Police seek driver who fled after plowing into auto service building in Tampa

A vehicle exiting from Interstate 275 onto Sligh Avenue slammed into a building early Monday morning, according to Tampa Police.

The driver, believed to be the only person in the vehicle, fled from the scene immediately following the crash at Havoline Xpress, an auto oil change service business at 505 E Sligh Ave., police said.

The vehicle has a temporary tag and has not been reported as stolen, police said.

Police have yet to identify the driver, and an investigation is under way.
