Police trying to identify pedestrian killed in Clearwater

CLEARWATER — A pedestrian struck by a car Tuesday night died early Wednesday at Bayfront Medical Center.

Police are trying to identify the man, who they said is about 30 years old.

Brian Dreggors, 25, of Clearwater struck the man near the 1600 block of Gulf to Bay Boulevard about 10:20 p.m., police said. Police say Dreggors was westbound on Gulf to Bay Boulevard in a 2002 Cadillac when he struck the man as he changed lanes near Duncan Avenue.

Police say the pedestrian was crossing mid-block. Dreggors was not cited.

Police are seeking the public's help in identifying the pedestrian, described as Hispanic, about 5 feet 8 to 5 feet 10, about 150 pounds with straight, black hair down to his collar. He had no facial hair and a faded tattoo on his left shin that read "VET GR 11."

He was wearing a T-shirt, blue jeans, brown work boots and had two gold rings.
