Rollover crash causes morning delays on U.S. 19 in Tarpon Springs

TARPON SPRINGS — A two-vehicle crash tied up southbound traffic Wednesday morning on U.S. 19 near Tarpon Mall, Tarpon Springs police said.

One vehicle overturned in the crash, but nobody appeared to be seriously injured, said police spokesman Capt. Jeffrey Young. The accident happened around 9:15 a.m., briefly backing up traffic on U.S. 19 south while crews cleared the roadway.

An ambulance responding to the crash triggered red lights at the intersection of U.S. 19 and Tarpon Avenue. But the lights didn't immediately reset, Young said, causing another traffic delay while the county checked the system.
