Safety Harbor man dies in Howard Frankland Bridge crash

A Safety Harbor man died Friday evening after suffering a medical problem that caused him to sideswipe the concrete barrier of the Howard Frankland Bridge.

Terrence Keith Hoffman, 53, was driving south when he lost control of his Ford Explorer and hit the barrier, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

No other vehicles were involved in the accident. Hoffman was taken to Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg, where he was pronounced dead.
