BRANDON — The sanitation worker who was killed early Friday when a car pinned him to his work truck has been identified.

It happened near 6 a.m. at Parsons Avenue south of U.S. Highway 92.

Hillsborough Sheriff's deputies said Frederick Solomon, 34, of Bradenton, was behind the stopped truck, owned by Republic Waste Services truck in the northbound lanes of Parsons Avenue. A 1988 Toyota, driven by 33-year-old Lloyd Cribbs Jr., of Plant City, rear-ended the truck, pinning Solomon between the two vehicles.

Solomon died at the scene. Deputies said Cribbs was taken to a hospital to be medically cleared.
