Second woman dies after September crash on I-75 in Brandon

BRANDON — A 34-year-old woman critically injured in a crash last month on Interstate 75 has died, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Chandradaye Rampersad, 34, of Tampa, was a passenger in a 2006 Mitsubishi Outlander driven by Tenisha Ramnath, 26, on Sept. 24.

At about 2:30 p.m., troopers said, as the vehicle was in the center lane near I-75 just north of State Road 60, it hit an overpass barrier wall and left the highway. It then flipped onto its roof and rolled onto CSX train tracks, coming to a rest right-side up.

Both women were taken to Tampa General Hospital in critical condition. Ramnath died several days later. Rampersad died last weekend.
