Seffner teen dies in I-75 early morning crash

TAMPA — A Seffner teen died this morning after being ejected from a Ford Explorer that ran off the road on southbound Interstate 75, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Britney Briana Warkow, 16, was a passenger in the sport utility vehicle when the driver, 17-year-old Arielle Warkow, lost control near the Bruce B. Downs Boulevard exit at 3:05 a.m., the agency reports.

The SUV veered across the inside lane and overturned in the grass median.

Troopers said Britney Warkow was not wearing her seat belt at the time of the accident. Arielle Warkow, who was wearing her seat belt, only sustained minor injuries and was taken to Brandon Regional Medical Center.
